A community is a reflection of the individuals who shape it, embodying their spirit of togetherness, hope, and can-do attitude, and showcasing their generosity and energy.
As with people, communities mature over time. At ten years old, a community is finding its footing, at twenty it’s envisioning its future, and by thirty, it has learned from the past and is confident about the future while maintaining a youthful energy.
Greater Springfield is a diverse community of over 50,000 people, featuring 12 schools, a university, a thriving hospital, a vibrant retail precinct, a world-class golf course, stadium, and 24 hectares of parklands surrounding its lagoon, all easily accessible from the Brisbane CBD.
The community embraces its differences, coming together to tackle challenges, just as its founders Maha Sinnathamby AM and Bob Sharpless overcame the obstacles to construct Australia’s first master-planned city.
At 30, Greater Springfield is brimming with optimism and energy, much like its people. As Australia’s newest city situated in its most dynamic region, it’s a place of learning, caring, healing, and growth.
This is the story of Springfield, as told by its people.
